Colorado State University

Colorado State University was founded in 1870. It is a public research university located in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. The university is now among the nation's leading research universities. The university offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees. The faculty provides an enriching and rewarding student learning experience. The approach is based on the land-grant philosophy and combines intellectual classroom pursuits with hands-on experience in the field and laboratory. The Department of Chemistry has an international reputation for excellence in research across a broad array of disciplines, including analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, materials and physical chemistry. Ph.D. graduates receive world-class training; participate in cutting-edge (and often interdisciplinary) research projects, and are employed at all levels of academia and industry around the globe. The faculty also enjoys an award-winning reputation for teaching excellence. Undergraduate students benefit both from access to this classroom expertise and from a long tradition of substantive undergraduate participation in research. The Department's research efforts are supported by a state-of-the-art Central Instrument Facility that provides 24/7 student access to shared instrumentation has an international reputation for excellence in research across a broad array of disciplines. The department offers BS / MS accelerated programs in chemistry. The accelerated B.S./M.S. Program offers a mechanism whereby highly motivated students can fulfill the requirements of and ACS-Certified B.S. Chemistry degree and a M.S. Chemistry degree in five years. The Chemical and Biological Engineering Department offer programs which is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The department offers B.S. Degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering. The small class size and high teacher-to-student ratio facilitate personal attention to each student’s education. The small class size also allows for a close-knit student body. The faculty all have active research programs, there are opportunities for undergraduate research experience in CBE. The courses provide hands-on experience with pilot-scale chemical and biological engineering equipment. The experiments are closely coordinated with classroom material to provide the reinforcement needed for a thorough understanding of fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, chemical reactor design, and process control. Many of these well designed experiments are connected directly to the latest computers by custom Labview software.
