University of Mons was founded in 2009, the merging of the University of Mons-Hainaut (UMH) and the Faculty of Engineering of Mons. The university is located in the city of Mons. The university offers Bachelor's and Master's and PhD programs in various study areas. The Department of Chemistry offers Bachelor's and Master's program. The curriculum for the Bachelor degree in Chemistry aims to provide students with a solid foundation in essential subjects such as general chemistry, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry and biochemistry. The Master degree programme comprises two main subjects Chemistry and Materials Engineering and Organic, Instrumental and Applied Chemistry. The Faculty of Engineering offers master's program in Chemical Engineering. University of Mons has 80 Research Units and two centers of excellence. The university consists of highly qualified faculty to carry out teaching and research. They conduct high level research at regional as well as international level and provide quality teaching.
