Grand Valley State University was founded in 1960. It is a public liberal arts university located in Allendale, Michigan, United States. Grand Valley is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission; Member – North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, administered through the Department of Chemistry. The Department of Chemistry offers a minor in chemistry, Bachelor of Science in chemistry or biochemistry, and a certificate in green chemistry. The chemistry degree can be earned with coursework in any of four different emphases: Education, Environmental, Professional, and Technical. The professional emphasis program in chemistry is approved by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society.
