Hood College prepares students to excel in meeting the personal, professional and global challenges of the future. We offer majors in Chemistry and Biochemistry that effectively prepare students for post-baccalaureate employment and graduate school in chemistry and biochemistry programs. Our majors are excellent choices for students planning careers in research, medicine, dentistry, and veterinary science. We also offer minors in Chemistry and Physics as well as an Environmental Chemistry Concentration in the Environmental Science and Policy major. Hood students have opportunities to conduct research with faculty in our department as well as work in major research laboratories at nearby Fort Detrick, the National Institute for Standards and Technology, and the National Institutes of Health.
