Iwate University

Iwate University was founded in 1949. It is located in Iwate Prefecture's capital, Morioka City, Japan, which is one of the principal cities in the Tohoku region. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Chemistry and Bioengineering is conducting studies into creating environmentally friendly new materials, life phenomena, and information mechanisms, aiming to foster human resources who have two perspectives: atoms or molecules, and environment and life engineering. The department offers courses and research to basic specialized subjects, focusing on four field’s inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and biotechnology.
