The Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg association was founded on November 22, 1994. This creation was a direct result of the restructuring of higher education outside the university in the Flemish Community. On June 30 1994 the Flemish Council since the Decree on good colleges in the Flemish Community and the decision was ratified by the Flemish government on 13 July 1994. The Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg (KHLim, say climbing) is formed by the merger of nine colleges. KHLim is pacesetter in the region by offering education, research, services and practice of the arts.
