Mississippi State University, the state's largest university and its flagship research institution.  Mississippi State University has had a rich history in pioneering chemical education in the Southeastern region of the US since 1878, having the oldest ACS accredited program in the state. We have recently hired six new faculty and staff for 2009 and we currently have an annual research budget in excess of $2.5 M. The Department also operates superb, state-of-the-art instrumentation facilities that support its research and teaching missions.
