1910, Origin and organization of the National University of Mexico. The National Autonomous University of Mexico is heir to the Royal and Pontifical University of Mexico, founded in 1551 by Royal Charter, organized in the manner of the University of Salamanca, consisting of four faculties "major", Theology, Canon Law, Law and Medicine, , a minor"-Arts-and several chairs. This institution was the first to offer lectures on the American continent. It formed the very doctors who make up the university faculty and professionals in the colonial period, clergymen, lawyers, administrators and doctors. During the first century of independence from Mexico, the University is closed and reopened several times, and founded new schools or educational establishments in different types and modalities.
