Institute of Chemistry is an internationally recognized research organization in the field of chemistry and related disciplines. Established in 1946 as a chemistry laboratory of the Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences, and today operates as a public research institute in the field of scientific research and development activities. Basic and applied research has focused on areas that have significant long term for both Slovenia and the world. Educational activity is one of the important areas of Institute of Chemistry. The aim of the institute is to enhance cooperation with industry to increase innovation and research institute. The institute is intensively involved in education, working with Slovenian and international educational institutions. It also provides training and education for undergraduate students and for students in specialist, master's and doctoral studies. The undergraduates are offered possibility of scholarships and collaboration in preparing graduate dissertations and performing compulsory practical training.
