The National University of La Plata was founded in 1905. It is one of the most important Argentine national universities and the biggest one situated in the city of La Plata, capital of Buenos Aires Province. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various study area. The University has 154 institutes, centers and research and development laboratories where they carry out their activities 6,000 researchers. It also has a Museum of Natural Sciences (and a network of 12 thematic museums). The Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Exactas Sciences offers degree courses in chemistry, biochemistry and environmental technology. The Faculty of Natural Sciences offers degree in geochemistry.
