Niigata University offers Research in Analytical Chemistry,Biochemistry.

Niigata University

Niigata University is located in the City of Niigata, a key metropolis on the Sea of Japan. Niigata is the only government ordinance–designated city on that coast and thus is the region's leading municipality. The university is nestled between the Sea of Japan and the Echigo Plain.Niigata University boasts a long history and rich tradition, with the predecessor institutions of the university tracing back about 140 years. The school was inaugurated as Niigata University in 1949 under the new university system introduced in Japan soon after the end of World War II. One of the objectives of the department is to provide advanced knowledge on chemistry and research experiences for the students. In order to attain the goal, the lectures and laboratory works are so arranged that the students can acquire both the fundamental and current subjects of chemistry. Furthermore, senior students belong to the laboratories of distinct disciplines (Nuclear and Radiochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Reaction Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry of Condensed Matter, Quantum Chemistry), and gain new experiences in research work by means of graduation research and seminar. Intensive and extensive research is performed in each laboratory whose faculties instruct students in their studies and research work. About 60% of students proceed to the Graduate School after graduation to develop further their research experience.
