Osaka University

Osaka university was officially founded in 1931. Its origins reach back to Tekijuku, a private place of learning founded by OGATA Koan.It is an outstanding center of learning we will continue to provide fundamental academic research and education that only a university can provide. As the strength of any organization depends on the support of its members, Osaka University will continue to nurture a working environment in which all members can maximize their potential and all departments and research facilities can exhibit their originality. The Department of Chemistry in the Graduate School of Science was established in the year 1931 during the foundation of the Osaka Imperial University. Since then, the department has expanded from its original 5 divisions to include 8 divisions and 29 research groups, which investigate a wide array of problems in the field of chemical research.
