The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology is a public research university in Haifa, Israel. Founded in 1912, Technion is the oldest university in Israel. The university offers degrees in science and engineering, and related fields such as architecture, medicine, industrial management and education .It has 18 academic departments and some 50 research centers. Since its founding, it has awarded over 95,000 degrees and its graduates are cited to have provided the skills and education behind the creation and protection of the State of Israel.The university’s principal language of instruction is Hebrew, and Technion was the scene of a critical struggle over the language of instruction which helped consolidate Hebrew as the spoken language in the State of Israel. Technion’s over 600 faculty members include three Nobel Laureates. The Faculty of Chemistry is a strong academic unit, with dynamic research and teaching programs, active faculty members and modern research laboratories and facilities. It spans the full spectrum of disciplines within chemistry.More than 1700 students have graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry, including more than 1055 bachelors, 443 masters and 286 doctors. To date, many of the Faculty’s alumni hold leading positions in Israeli industry including its high-tech and defense sectors, universities and other educational institutions, as well as in various governmental and public research organizations.
