The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was founded in 1991. An innovator in research and teaching, HKUST is the only science and technology research university in Hong Kong, and the only one to offer an all-PhD faculty. Its groundbreaking work in science, engineering, business, humanities and social science is successfully pushing back the boundaries of the information age. Such advances are assisted by the University's top-class facilities. The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering was founded in 1993. The department offers Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (BEng), Bachelor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (CEEV), Bachelor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBME), Master of Philosophy (by research) (MPhil), Master of Science (by course) (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. The research interests of the Department include advanced materials, energy and environment, process system engineering, and bioengineering. faculty members are contributing to the dynamic research programs of the university by providing support and leadership to the Interdisciplinary Program Office, Division of Environment, Division of Biomedical Engineering, Division of Energy and Environment (Fok Ying Tung Graduate School), Division of Advanced Manufacturing and Automation (Fok Ying Tung Graduate School). The chemistry department has co-operative faculty members who are active in all areas of chemical research and their research is internationally recognized.
