Universidad Católica del Norte

The Catholic University of the North was founded in 1956. It is a private institution. Since its inception, has led development initiatives, increasing and diversifying their work, through the training of professionals and scientists successfully unfolding in the areas of research, in its mission and its cultural agent forming role human resources , always attentive to the academic demands required by their social environment. The university currently has an enrollment of over 10,000 students and in recent years has made significant efforts to realize a wide range of graduate programs, Masters and Doctorates in the various areas of knowledge. North Catholic University has two campuses, located in the most important regions in the north. The Headquarters of the UCN is in the city of Antofagasta, II Region of the country and one of the main centers of world mine production, while in the Fourth Region of Coquimbo, Guaiacum campus is located and in the municipality of San Pedro de Atacama, the Archaeological Research Institute and Museum RP Gustavo Le Paige.
