Universite Paris Sud was founded on 17th December 1970. It is a French university consisting of several campuses in the southern suburb of Paris. The main campus is located in Orsay. It is home to research of the highest level. Paris-Sud University is renowned not "only for its research but also for the extent and variety of its courses and programs, both in academic disciplines at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, “and PhD levels, and in technical training. The Department of Chemistry comes within the Faculty of Science It includes all the research and teaching of chemistry in the Faculty of Science of Orsay. It brings together faculty members, teachers and researchers within the discipline, and the IATSS involved in the management of chemistry education courses or working in the research teams of the department laboratories. The chemistry research activities take place in six research laboratories and cover a large number of sub-disciplines: organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, theoretical chemistry, radiochemistry, materials chemistry. The department offers Master program in chemistry. The Department of Earth Science offers bachelor and master programs.
