Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was founded in 1969. It is a public university in Malaysia. The university offers undergraduate and post graduate programs. The School of Chemical Sciences is one of the pioneering Schools of USM. The School has been entrusted to provide professional training in chemistry to meet the demands of the industries and society. The school offers undergraduate programs in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Honours degree and Bachelor of Applied Science (B.App.Sc.) with Honours degree, majoring either in Industrial or Analytical Chemistry. These programs are recognised by the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry. The school also offers the postgraduate programs either by research mode leading to M.Sc. and Ph.D. or mixed-mode M.Sc. (Chemical Instrumentation). The School of Chemical Engineering was established in 1992. This was mainly to fulfill the demand for highly competent professional chemical engineers in the nation's growing chemical process industries and to explore various fields of research in chemical engineering. Today the school is one of the leading institutions in the country offering both undergraduate and graduate programmes in chemical engineering.
