A significant fraction of faculty research addresses biological and biomedical problems, nanomaterials, and energy research. The Department is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. It maintains strong ties to departments in Biological Sciences Physics, and Chemical Engineering as well as the School of Pharmacy and the UConn Health Center. The Biochemistry Program at the University of Connecticut provides interdisciplinary courses and research opportunities for undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting investigators.
