University of Gothenburg was founded in 1891. It is a university in Sweden's second largest city, Gothenburg. The Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology conducts research and education of highest quality in three main fields: bimolecular sciences, environmental sciences, and fundamental chemical sciences. The department is responsible for the undergraduate programs in chemistry, organic- and medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, genomics and systems biology as well as the bachelor program in Pharmacy. The department is located in the chemistry building at the Chalmers Campus Johanneberg and in the Lundberg Laboratory at the Medical Hill. Research and education at the department comprises a wide scientific field from the atomic and molecular levels all the way through cells to intact organisms.
