University of Massachusetts Medical School was founded in 1962 to provide affordable, high-quality medical education to state residents and to increase the number of primary care physicians practicing in underserved areas of the state. Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology strives to bring a molecular perspective to problems in biology and medicine.  The faculty and staff in BMP are committed to providing a stimulating environment that makes biomedical research an exciting educational endeavor for all students and post-doctoral researchers.
