The University of Parma is one of the oldest universities in the world, founded in the 11th century. It is organised in twelve faculties. The University of Parma has currently about 30,000 students, 2,000 faculty and members of the administrative staff. To the south of the city is the University Campus which stretches for 77 hectares: a citadel which is the scientific center of the University, with a number of top-level sports facilities and services available to all students.
